Calling for nominations for the 2025 SAPPA Early Career Principal Award

The South Australian Primary Principals Association (SAPPA) is calling for nominations for the 2025 SAPPA Early Career Principal Award.

The Award and $500 prize sponsored by SAPPA, will be presented to the winner at the World Teachers’ Day event hosted by Educators SA on the evening of Friday 31 October at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

The nominee must be a SAPPA member in the first three to five years of their first Band A tenure. The nominee is to be nominated by a peer, which could include a Principal or leader colleague, Education Director or LET team member.

The nominee should demonstrate a range of qualities from the following criteria:

  1. Leading and Learning Excellence
  • Actively engages in own professional learning, reflection and goal setting.
  • Demonstrates resilience and persistence when facing challenges.
  • Leads the learning in the school and creates positive learning and teaching environments.
  1. Collaboration and Citizenship
  • Demonstrates collaborative leadership and supports peers and leader colleagues positively in a variety of contexts – school, community and system level.
  • Leads the school in a way that promotes and develops equity and inclusion.
  1. Connection with Community
  • Builds and contributes to building positive school culture.
  • Builds positive relationships with staff, families and community members, working respectfully with others and contributing to group success

The review panel will be made up of the SAPPA President and SAPPA Board members.

The winner will be notified via email from the SAPPA President and invited to attend the World Teachers’ Day event on the evening of 31 October at the Adelaide Convention Centre, where they will be presented with their Award.
